About Diakite Roofing & Restoration
Diakite Roofing & Restoration is a roof replacement and storm restoration contractor in Columbia, MD. Honest roofing and storm restoration in Howard County. It is owned by Lassana Diakite, a HAAG certified inspector who walks the roofs and writes the scopes himself, and we replace roofs and siding across Howard County and six neighboring counties. Every job opens with a free no-obligation inspection.
One Roofer, Accountable for the Roof
Diakite Roofing & Restoration is Lassana Diakite. He owns Diakite LLC, and he is the one who climbs up and inspects your roof. There is no canvasser handing you off to a salesman who hands you off to a production manager, which is the sequence most homeowners around here have already been through at least once.
The certification behind that matters more than it sounds. HAAG is the standard adjusters are trained against, so a HAAG certified inspection reads the roof the way the claim will be judged: strike density per square, granule loss, mat fracture, mechanical damage separated out from weather. That is why the inspection is chalked and photographed slope by slope instead of summarised.

What We Actually Hold
HAAG Certified Inspector
Trained to the standard adjusters use, which is what makes a storm inspection hold up instead of getting waved off.
Owens Corning Duration Shingles (Limited Lifetime Warranty)
Owens Corning architectural shingles on the roofs. Owens Corning warrants the shingle materials under their Limited Lifetime terms for as long as the original owner owns the home. That is the manufacturer's warranty on the shingles, not ours on the labor. Colors get picked off real samples held against your own brick or siding.
Xactimate Estimating
Insurance scopes priced in the same software the carriers use, so the line items arrive in the format an adjuster reads.
How We Work
How the Work Actually Runs
The Inspection Comes Before the Sales Pitch
The order of operations is the whole difference. Nothing gets quoted until the roof has been walked, and the walk produces photographs rather than an opinion.
You look at your own slopes: the chalk circles around hail bruising, the tabs that have lost their seal along the rake, the granule wash sitting in the gutter line, the flashing at the chimney that somebody caulked instead of rebuilt. Then you decide.

Plenty of Inspections End With Nothing to Sell
One homeowner had been told by roofer after roofer that his ten-year-old roof needed replacing. The inspection found no damage and that is what he was told, which is the review sitting on the profile today. Being the roofer somebody calls in six years is worth more than one sale now, and it is a cheaper way to run a business than paying to knock on doors.

Scope in Writing, Then the Install Date
When a roof does need replacing, the scope goes in writing first: shingle color, line items, install date. Insurance work is priced in Xactimate so the numbers arrive in the format the adjuster already reads, which removes most of the back-and-forth that turns a claim into a month-long project. Permits are pulled as part of the job, Howard County and its neighbors require them, and the county inspection is scheduled rather than avoided.

Great experience! The contractor did an excellent job installing my siding. They were professional, efficient, and paid close attention to detail. The finished work looks amazing, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality siding work.
Why the Work Is Replacement and Restoration
There is no repair menu here, and that is deliberate. A patch on a roof that is structurally finished buys a season and costs the homeowner the cheaper path they could have taken, and it puts the roofer in the position of being paid to postpone the real conversation. The work is roof replacement, storm and hail restoration, and siding replacement, plus emergency tarping when a roof is open and the weather is not waiting.

Gutters Arrive With the Roof
A full replacement also carries 100 feet of gutter with gutter guard and downspouts. Gutters are not sold on their own, they arrive with the roof, because new water coming off a new roof needs somewhere to go and pretending that is a separate job is how homeowners end up with two invoices for one problem.

Where We Work
Out of Columbia, covering Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Prince George's, Carroll, Frederick & Baltimore Counties, roughly 35 miles out. The radius is set by what a one-day replacement and a same-day storm response can actually support. Hours are Mon-Sat 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and the number that rings is (667) 200-6656.

The Person Who Inspects Your Roof Owns the Company

About Diakite Roofing FAQ
Who owns the company?
Lassana Diakite owns and runs it. Diakite LLC trades as Diakite Roofing & Restoration. He does the inspections himself, so the person on your roof is the person you spoke to.
What certifications do you hold?
HAAG Certified Inspector, Owens Corning Duration Shingles (Limited Lifetime Warranty), Xactimate Estimating. The Limited Lifetime coverage in that list is Owens Corning's warranty on the shingle materials, not a warranty from us on the workmanship. The inspection is done by the HAAG certified inspector himself, not a subcontracted canvasser.
What areas do you serve?
Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Prince George's, Carroll, Frederick & Baltimore Counties, worked out of Columbia. About a 35-mile radius.
Do you do repairs?
No. The work is replacement and restoration. Emergency tarping is the exception, because an open roof needs covering the same day.

A HAAG certified inspector walks the roof, photographs every slope, and tells you what he found. If the shingles are sound, that is the finding and there is nothing to sign.
