The Short Answer
Diakite Roofing & Restoration handles storm damage roof claims in Columbia and Howard County, Maryland. A HAAG certified inspector documents roof hail damage slope by slope at no cost, we write the loss in Xactimate, and we meet your adjuster on the roof to agree the scope before any replacement. Your policy and deductible decide what you pay.
- Will insurance definitely cover my roof in Maryland? Nobody can promise that, and a roofer who does is gambling with your money.
- What does HAAG certified actually mean for a Central Maryland storm claim? HAAG is the engineering firm whose damage-assessment training adjusters themselves learn from.
- Do you push a replacement after every Central Maryland storm? No. One homeowner put it this way on our Google profile: "Lassana came out and looked at my roof after all the crazy storms going around and told me that my roof doesn't have any damages yet whereas all the over roofers told me I need a new roof.
- My Maryland claim was denied or underpaid. Is it too late? Not always.
Included on a Full Replacement
100 Feet of Gutter With Your Roof Replacement
Every full roof replacement we do across Central Maryland comes with 100 feet of gutter, gutter guard and downspouts on the same job. It is part of the replacement rather than a second trip and a second invoice, and it is the reason the water coming off a new roof goes where it should.
Included with a full roof replacement. It is not a standalone service, and there is no end date on it.

Why Homeowners Choose Diakite Roofing & Restoration for Storm & Hail Damage Restoration
A HAAG Certified Inspector on the Roof
Hail bruising, mat fracture, and wind creasing get identified and photographed slope by slope, which turns the report into evidence instead of opinion.
The Loss Written in Xactimate
Adjusters price claims in Xactimate. We scope yours in the same software, line by line, so drip edge, starter, ridge vent, and flashing are not quietly left off.
We Are There for the Adjuster Meeting
You should not be standing in the driveway explaining your own claim. We walk the same slopes with the adjuster and agree the scope on the spot where we can.

Storm & Hail Damage Restoration: What Central Maryland Homeowners Should Know
Hail Damage on a Maryland Asphalt Roof Rarely Looks Like Damage
Homeowners expect hail to punch holes. On an asphalt shingle it usually does something quieter and worse. A hit bruises the shingle, fracturing the fiberglass mat under the surface and knocking granules loose in a soft circle.
The mat is the shingle's structure; the granules are its sunscreen. Break one and strip the other and the asphalt starts oxidizing from that spot outward.

From the ground the roof looks fine. Two or three summers later it is shedding granules into the gutters and leaking at the valleys, long after the storm date your carrier would have accepted.
Central Maryland takes its worst hail and straight-line wind between April and June. Wind damage reads differently: creased shingles where a tab got folded back and sprung, missing tabs along a rake, lifted ridge caps, seams opened at flashing. A wind-creased shingle often lays back down flat and looks normal from the yard while the seal strip underneath is broken for good.

What a HAAG Certified Inspection Puts on Paper
Our inspector is HAAG certified, which matters for one practical reason. The damage assessment follows the same published methodology the insurance industry trained on, so the findings are hard to wave off. On a storm inspection we chalk out test squares on each slope, count and photograph impacts per square, and separate genuine storm damage from the things adjusters correctly deny, like blistering, foot-traffic scuffing, and ordinary end-of-life granule loss.
Soft metal is part of the read. Gutter aprons, vents, flashing, and any metal trim take clean dents that date and size the hail event, which is why we photograph those alongside the field shingles. Siding, window wraps, and screens get looked at on the same visit, because hail that reached a roof slope usually reached the wall below it.

Great experience with this company. They were professional, punctual, and thorough during the roof inspection. They explained their findings clearly and provided honest recommendations without pressure. I appreciate their attention to detail and would highly recommend their services.
Xactimate, the Adjuster Meeting, and Supplements
We write storm scopes in Xactimate, the estimating software most carriers use on the other side of the table. Working in the same line items and the same regional pricing removes an entire argument from the process. When an adjuster's estimate is missing drip edge, or pays for a ridge vent it never accounted for, the disagreement gets settled on a line rather than over the phone.
We will meet your adjuster at the house and walk the roof with them. What we will not do is promise you an outcome, because the carrier decides coverage and we do not.

Deductibles apply, some policies pay depreciated value until the work is complete, and a roof at the end of its life sometimes gets denied for good reason. You will hear that from us before you file, not after.
That honesty is the thing our reviews actually talk about. From xxmicca xx on Google: "Lassana came out and looked at my roof after all the crazy storms going around and told me that my roof doesn't have any damages yet whereas all the over roofers told me I need a new roof. My Roof was only 10 year old"

Getting the Roof Closed Before the Claim Is Settled
Claims take time. Water does not wait for one.
If a storm has opened the roof, we tarp it and document the condition while it is fresh, then work the claim from a house that is no longer taking on water. That sequence protects the interior and the file both, because an insurer looks harder at interior damage that spread after the homeowner already knew about the hole.

Storm & Hail Damage Restoration: Frequently Asked Questions
Will insurance definitely cover my roof in Maryland?
Nobody can promise that, and a roofer who does is gambling with your money. Coverage comes down to your policy, your deductible, and what the adjuster agrees the storm did. What we control is the quality of the evidence, and weak evidence is where most underpaid claims are lost.
What does HAAG certified actually mean for a Central Maryland storm claim?
HAAG is the engineering firm whose damage-assessment training adjusters themselves learn from. A HAAG certified inspection identifies hail and wind damage by the same criteria the insurer applies, which makes it much harder to wave off.
Do you push a replacement after every Central Maryland storm?
No. One homeowner put it this way on our Google profile: "Lassana came out and looked at my roof after all the crazy storms going around and told me that my roof doesn't have any damages yet whereas all the over roofers told me I need a new roof. My Roof was only 10 year old" (xxmicca xx, 5 stars). If the storm did not hurt your roof, that is what you will hear.
My Maryland claim was denied or underpaid. Is it too late?
Not always. A documented HAAG inspection sometimes gives an insurer grounds to take a second look, particularly when the first inspection skipped slopes. We will get up there and tell you straight whether there is anything worth reopening.
How soon after a Howard County storm should I get the roof looked at?
Soon. Policies carry filing deadlines, and hail damage keeps opening up under sun and freeze cycles until it leaks. Call (667) 200-6656 and we will get out to look.
