The east-side waterfront: Dundalk, Essex and Middle River
East toward the water the county changes character. Dundalk, Essex, Middle River and Edgemere were built for the shipyards and the Glenn L. Martin aircraft plant, so the housing runs to Formstone rowhomes, small Cape Cods and postwar ranchers packed closer together. Off Back River and the Chesapeake these roofs take more wind and salt, and older porch roofs and low-slope additions are common, so the flashing and the tie-ins matter as much as the main slope.
On the waterfront houses we install Owens Corning architectural shingles with a properly detailed valley and clean step flashing at every wall and chimney.
Storm claims across the county
